Homemade Tank Stand Uneven Top

I built a stand for a 40 gallon breeder and used the the epoxy mix "Bar Top" stuff on the top thinking it would settle nice and even because of the incredibly slow cure time. Well much to my surprise it cured very un-even. When setting the empty tank on it I can look under one end and see daylight here and there

I cannot sit it so that all four corners touch at once- the gaps are not much at all though and the tank does sit level.

Any thoughts on tolerance that can be lived with or none at all?

I'm guessing I should put a piece of foam board under it now?

It's too bad..it came out really nice.

Thank you for your opinions

is the top still level and flat, with intermittent bumps and dips? if so, that's not so bad. you can just put something between the epoxy and the tank.

for anyone reading this, just use a piece of plywood as the top of your stand. the 3/4" stuff that's $50 for a full sheet is plenty flat enough for any aquarium.
