I have come across a 210 gallon tank, which does not include a hood or lighting. The tank is 84"x24"x24", with a brace in the middle. I would like to have some intense lighting.
If the tank were only 72" long, then I could simply choose some prefab luminaires that would span the whole tank, problem solved pretty easily. However, this tank has the extra length, and I am not sure how to approch mounting lights on it.
I do not really want a full blown hood - I don't think that I could match the finish of the stand, and I don't want to trap unwanted heat under the hood.
What are some common approaches to lighting a wide tank like this? Can I utilize the center brace and get two 36" luminaires or something?
