Dont these need a lot of room on the bottom of the tank with a really deep bed ?

Don't do it. They are best left in the ocean unless you have an enormous tank. They grow to be the size of your head, plus a tail about 10" long. They will most likely die in a home aquarium.

I saw one at the store out in rockland and looked like a awesome critter but like you said they / it was HUGE !!! The tank there is massive like 1000g or bigger and the crab made the tank look small.
