Horseshoe Crab

My horseshoe crab is overgrowing my tank. I knew this would happen sooner or later. My question is how much would you pay for one? Currently I'm in Savannah, Ga and there is only ONE LFS in the area, so they overcharge like a mofo. That being said, I was going to call and negotiate for store credit, but I don't want to get ripped off. What are your thoughts?

If they offer anything at all, I'd take it. A large horseshoe is not going to be easy for them to sell and I doubt they want to house it. Remember that they get the smaller crabs for dirt cheap from their supplier and small ones are easy to sell. No LFS will ever give you anything close to what you payed for livestock, it is simply bad business for them. If you want to make a profit or break even, try to sell it on your own.

I don't know, at the LFS I work at, quite a few people come in and want the biggest HS crab we have.
