I just got the hospital tank set up. Here is my equipment list:
-26 Gallon Bow with 15 watt light and glass lid
-Cheapo HOB filter rated for 30-60 gallons
-Sponge from my sump in the filter, took out the carbon
-300 Watt Heater. Its all I had available, so I will have to order another one becasue it was what I used for water changes.
-Random sized/shaped PVC Pieces
What am I missing, if anything? Do I need an air stone, power head, etc?
-Chelate Copper Treatment (Mardel Coppersafe) Its, the only marine fish copper treatment I was able to find at one of the "box" retailers.
Plan of attack:
The SG is at .020-.021ish (DT is at .025-.026)
Copper treatment
5 weeks medication, 5 weeks observation??
Are there any other medications that I should Combine with Copper Treatment to eliminate any other infections.
Current Status:
Got the Dotty back out with fish trap... Hoping the trap will catch my wrasse and maybe the chromis (4)
Coral Beauty, hopefully can net him when hes not paying attention
Clown, same MO.
I already lost my Kole Tang to ICH (Cause of the problem), so here I go into the great unknown.
Ive read so many different threads that I am swimming in different opinions and am really confused at this point. A lot of the Stickys here have soo much information that I am not sure what applies and what does not. I really need some direction here.
Lastly, once I am done with the Fallow period, what do I do with the QT? Do I keep it running all the time in case of a new fish purchase? Do I store it and only get it out when I decide to get a new fish? If so, how long does it need to be established before puchasing the new fish? What do I do with all the equipment once the fallow period is over? Sterilize? How? During the Fallow period, is it OK to add new corals to the DT?
Sorry for all the questions, I dont expect answers to all.
Thanks in advance,
-Dan
