Hospital Tank for Snowflake Clown - Open Mouth

I got my snowflake clownfish about 4-6 months ago and he's been doing fantastic. Just recently I noticed his mouth will not close. I realize this could be a number of things: dislocated jaw from either a fight or bumping into something, or a parasite, being the main two causes. I haven't noticed him eating so my guess is a parasite. My other fish, two bangaii cardinals and a firefish goby, are fine. So I'm in the process of preparing the saltwater right now for the hospital tank, but need to know what I should do for the cycle part. I have a Fluval U2 filter for it from a previous tank. I also bought an airstone and an air pump and will later buy PVC tubing for hiding spots. I also ordered Rid Ich Plus (LFS recommended it to me) and will use that to treat him IF it is a parasite. My worry is the cycling part. If it's a parasite, I want the quickest cycle possible. But what if it isn't a parasite and his mouth will go back to normal soon? I went ahead and put an airstone in the display tank for now to see if that helps. I just need some insight as to what to do and if I'm heading in the right direction. TIA.

Get some cycling bacteria. Most you can add a few fish right away after adding. might get a slight ammonia spike, but no more then you would get in a sterile hospital tank in between water changes. Get one of the seachem ammonia badges to keep an eye on it. Use a sponge in the fluval filter and if you can, throw some ceramic media in there for bacteria to seed. One fish shouldn't be an issue on stressing the bioload though.
