A bit ago, I posted about my magnif foxface with a wound on the tip of his nose----> http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2278289.
Not a lot of change, but he is starting to get thin. He seems interested in food (grazing) but I think his nose "hurts" too much to eat?? Or maybe he can't see well enough? I was doing frequent water changes and vitamins in the DT, but that has not been enough. He has started to swim in circles, close to the top of the tank.
At any rate, I put him in a small hospital tank with a heater, two small LR, airstone. Daily water changes and Prime, and some nori algae, which he has not touched. I give him just a little mysis soaked in vitachem and selcon, hardly any though due to fear of ammonia spike. I can't tell if he has eaten it or if it has dissolved.
I am treating with maracyn and put some topical antibiotic gel on his nose.
He seems to be "resting" peacefully, NAD (no apparent distress)
Bacteria on the LR is supposed to be ok with Maracyn, but who knows?
I picked up a sponge filter and am seeding in my display tank. Will have that available from now on--wasn't prepared for this, but will be.
Is there anything else I should be doing? What results should I expect to see if the treatment is working?
Thanks for your support. This is really upsetting, and I wish I knew more about this stuff.
