i just bought a green sebae anemone and i was wondering if they will be a good host for my ocellarius clowns. if you have one of these pics would also be great.

An Ocellaris clownfish might not go for a Sebae anemone. They can be picky as for which anemone they will live in. I know in the wild they do not live in Sebae anemones. I have two Sebae anemones, but I have a Clarkii anemonefish which is known to live in many anemones including Heteractis crispa. Heres a few pics of one of mine.

on the price tag it said sebae but i think it looks more like a buble tip myself. will they go for a bubble tip?

they have been foing around and looking at it for a while now, do you think that means that they are interested? they have not gone in it yet though.

They may host a bubble tip. It is not their natural host. I have one that hosts a rose bubble tip. Pics in my gallery.

Do you have a pic of it? I could tell you which one it is then. A BTA would probably have a better chance than a sebae to host them. My clownish went in it immediately after I introduced it into the tank, but it could take a while. If they are looking at it they might be interested. But remember there really is no guarantee. Are your clownfish wild or tank-bred?

i have heard that tank raised clowns can lose their instinct. i am not sure that this is true. i would also like to know if any1 has heard of sebae anemones hosting a ocellaris clown pair. sry that i dont have any pics my camera is broke i will try to post pics as soon a possible.

I would have to say that a WC will be more likely to take to an anemone. Out of six clownfish, I have one WC. Four will host, two are first generation CB, took less than 10 minutes to host. If you take away the anemone from the WC, you will see a super freak! She has had a 55 gallon tank for a year and has never seen 90% of it. Soon she will have a 75 gallon, and will likely never see 90% of that. The other two, have been in my care for two years, and do not host. They have occationally swam through it.

i have a ocellaris pair 1 is wc and 1 is cb do you think if the wc 1 goes in that the cb will follow?

Well...if you think about it, redvipe, the WC clown was snatched up out of her anemone and put through the stress of shipping and being sold and whatnot. Last time she was taken from her anemone, she was put through quite a terrible ordeal...plus, back home, if she left her anemone she got killed. She has a reason to be a bit paranoid.
The CB clowns have never had an anemone, don't need it to survive, so I guess to me it makes perfect sense that they might not spend as much time in it. Plus they have no predators in captivity, so they've never had any close calls by venturing too far from the anemone.
How many people have gorgeous RodOnyx pairs hosting anemones? Plenty of CB clowns host anemones...as I'm sure there are some WC clowns that won't host.
To answer your question, the CB might follow the WC in to the anemone, if either of them take to it right away, or the female might not let the male into the nem for a while (or ever). It's always kinda hit-or-miss with clowns.

last night my clowns were checking it out . they would stick thier noses in ans sometimes they would touch it with thier fins. they are not doing it this morning do you think that they are still interested?

That is why I lean towards WC being more likely to take to an anemone. This process happens to all WC clownfish.
I actually feel bad about having this WC fish in my tank. I would not have purchased it at a LFS. I got it from someone that was getting out of the hobby. I will not support taking something out of the ocean when there are other options.
