Hosting question

So I picked up a small captive bred Maroon Clown this past week to go with my BTA. I had read that the Maroon was the most natural clown for the BTA in the wild.

It's been 2-3 days and the clown isn't really showing any interest in the BTA at all.

I've read about people taping a picture of a clown/anemone combo to the side of the tank................but, does it really work?

Any other ideas other then "forcing" it?

I wouldn't worry they will host it eventually. Took my pair months to stop hosting the toadstool...lol. But one day they decided to jump in the nem :)

You can try spotlighting the nem with a flashlight at lights out. I've heard of that one working but never tried it.

I have a couple of pictures taped to the tank, and it's funny that the clown actually looks at them and stares at them.

It's only been 2-3 days, so I guess I was just hoping for a quick host.........give it time I guess.

Yes, I would say give it time. I'm surprised it's taking maroons that long to find a BTA. In my experience, captive bred maroons swim directly to them, even though they haven't been with an anemone before.

I used the picture trick and it took about 3 days for them to stare at it and move into it and they have been there since. Improved their attitude as well.

It was looking at the pictures and check out the anemone, but nothing has happened yet.

I'll give him time, hopefully it will happen................that was my whole point of getting the BTA and Maroon.
