House bricks

Hi all,

I need to prop up my protein skimmer in my sump.Can you use common house bricks. I have a bunch laying around, but I didn't know chemicals would leach out over time.

Any insight would be great.

I would be worried about them leaching metals, better to build one out of acrylic of egg crate.

I went to walmart and got a plastic container the right size. Turned it upside down and set the skimmer on it.
