Heads up - the annual Splash Event at House of Fins will be Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1st and 2nd.

The speaker list is yet to be finalized, but I'll post it here as soon as it is available. They have always brought in several top name speakers and I'm sure this year wil be no different.

Mark your calendar for this - it's an event that shouldn't be missed. Great speakers, amazing livestock, huge discounts, good food and lots of fellow reefers. And it's all FREE! Getting to watch test drives go by from the Ferrari dealership up the road is a nice bonus, too.

This just in from HoF:
We're pleased to announce the 2011 Splash! speaker lineup: Jake Adams, Adam Blundell, Ret Talbot, and Tony Vargas!!! An ALL STAR lineup that we're really excited about! Stay tuned for more details on each speaker as the event gets closer!

Any info on the "huge discounts"?

Here's the info on the "huge discounts"

There are none.

Went last year and there were 0 deals or discounts to be seen what so ever. Unless you consider walking down 1 row of vendors selling led light kits starting at $3,000 a discount, other than that your SOL.

Last year there were tons of discounts. I bought plenty of stuff. One of the best buys I got was a D&D refractometer for $53, but there was a lot of good stuff. Plus they had fish that I had never thought I would see in the trade. The year before there was a plate coral that was so stunning I wet myself. If you go for nothing but to see the rare livestock it's worth it, but there are some great deals as well. If you don't like it, then don't go but don't go and slam a shop for bringing in awesome speakers and unreal livestock. Im sick of every other post people complaining about something. I never knew the reefing hobby was so full of petty, whining sniveling people, I would have thought twice about starting up. Its a hobby, if you can't afford it stick to ebay and craigslist.
