how and what do you feed your candy cane?

My candy cane is out every morning and I usually don't have time to spot feed ...

I can feed our trumpet any time of day. If I drop a mysis on it, it disappears within minutes with no visible movement except the polyp does swell noticeably during the process. Then it opens up and extends it's feeder tentacles as if it wants more. And it will take more. I do this with pumps off so I can just release the mysid above the polyp and it will drop down on it. I suppose this would be a lot of work if we had a colony with 50 polyps instead of 4. ;)

Maybe our trumpet is more of a glutton than your candy cane. :D

What about when the tentacles recede? Am I spot feeding it too hard so it is getting irritated?
I know some corals don't eat if you spot feed them too closely like zoos.
It just seems like they are moreso closing up because they don't like me spraying them with a baster rather than actually eating the food I am offering them.
