I have been a Reefcentral user for some time now, and wish to get more involved, and most importantly learn from these well experienced people in my area. I was actually told about this club not that long ago, I think the guys name was Erik. Any how this guy was really nice and I lost his contact. But I'm looking to get more involved. Any info would be greatly appreaciated.

Thanks,
Saul Ruiz

Great we'd love to have you!
[welcome]

She can help get you setup with a membership.
It's $25.00 per family per calendar year.

Thanks Funman1, you have actually been helpful to me in the past in other forums. Im going to try to save up the 300 dollars that way I know i'll be good for 1 year. Do you know what the benefits are.( I hope you guys don't think I'm a cheap *** asking for free stuff, but I guess i would like to know where my money is going) Can I go to a meeting without paying that way I can have a better understanding?

It's 25 per YEAR.
so u don't need 300

Yes, anyone can attend a meeting...
Your dues help pay the speaker and other costs the club incours

It's just $25.00 per year and yes, you can come to the meeting without being a member.

Being a member give you some benifit such as participating in frags swap, discount at local fish store, 10 to 20 percent depend on the store. Other benifit would be helping the club with funding to pay for the speakers and other activities ect...

Cool, 25 dollars is good. For a second I thought it was 25.00 per month.
I can't wait to join the club now. Do you guys have some cards or something like that?

Yep, membership card and clip-on badge-holder included.

Welcome to the club. Thanks for contributing. See you at the next meeting.

We also give out these niffty little decoders rings to those who are members. They allow you to fly and stuff! If you do sign up though, you have to get one of our faces tattooed on your back!!!

Since nobody else mentioned it, i will. At your first meeting after you join there will be a "test" and some hazing, so don't wear any clothes that you want to wear again. And bring some asprin to ease the pain once we're done with you!

Absolutely, i took mine to my first meeting, and haven't been back since. My kids caused all kinds of commotion, and my wife nagged all the time to leave. It's fun to take them if they have an interest. If not, you may want to leave them at home, because non-reefers get bored quick, and the rest of us have a lot of fun.

You can bring them, but they have to be psychologically OK with seeing you endure the hazing.

If we're talking kids though (seriously), my kids met Paul/Crystal's, MrMikeB's, Minh's, etc...

If we all agree: Should be one step easier than managed chaos? Right?

My wife has interest. That only includes looking at the tank, shes got no clue what trouble I go through to make it look so beautiful. All she says all day is, "you always have your hands in that tank". And yes it's true.
I'm sure some of your wifes are more involved, but hey. I have to take my wife one time that way she will be bored and never want to go again. I'm sure that sounds mean but thats the Married life.
I still love her even though shes got no interest, and thats because she is so forgiving after I go and blow some Money at the fish store:). But to tell you the truth I don't trust any one with my tank. However she does tend to feed my fish here and there.

Some of my wifes are more involved...

But seriously: My family (wife/kids) took care of the tank for 2 weeks while I was in the desert. Nothing died. Very happy. Starts with a good relationship, good instructions (including a "dry run"), and a good understanding of how weird you are about your hobby. If they respect you and therefore these crazy things: You'll be OK.
