]I got a strawberry shortcake acro frag 5 days ago and it looks the same. Are there polyps that come out? When can I expect it to color up? I am currently trying to get my mag to 1300. Cal and alk are good.
How can I tell if my sps is alive?

any algae growing on it?

I noticed strawberry shortcake has fairly small polyps,
but it like to string when it feeds, you see any feeding response?
If it has browned it will color up but it may take months.

+1 Sps has that VERY distinctive 'live, fishy smell'. You'll know when they are alive or skeletons just by that. If you have polyps it may take a month or fo to recover. If it is brown, hit it with more light gradually. If it is bleached, it may never come back. I have a tri-color valida that has been white with a pale green at the base for nearly a year.

I actually just got a frag of this as well. Mine has small polyps out, it definitely doesnt look like I thought it would. just a tan color. Hopefully it will change colors but time will tell.

I smelled it and it does smell fishy actually smells like scallops

it should be alive then. sps smells funky "like scallops"!
