How can you safely remove coralline algae from the tank sealing silicone?

A simple question really... I'd like to keep the glass and silicone seams free of coralline. Do you have a method for the silicone that works for you? Thanks!

Awesome question! I just broke down and completely cleaned our 37g, less the seals, then set it back up in our bedroom

I must have that limited edition coraline free silicone :). For the glass I use a Kent scraper which works great. The long handle is nice of the back of the tank on the lower half that is hard to reach. As far as silicone, mine doesn't grow there.

Since the silicone is flexible, you can rub it with your finger (or glove), the flexible silicone will move around, and the inflexible coralline will break apart. I've never really had much growing on it though.
