How dangerous is Favia?

I'd like to get a couple Favia frags but I know they have sweepers. Is it worth it? If the sweepers are 3" and the coral keeps growing, what do you do? Just attach it by itself, let it grow and leg it kill whatever it grows into? I guess that's it. :worried:

Well my favia hasn't had a growth spurt yet but they are considered a fast growing LPS. The longest sweepers that I've seen with mine are 1 1/2", maybe they will get longer as it grows, we'll have to see. As it grows, you should be able to brake off the new growth if its getting to close to other corals.

Considered one of the longer sweepers for sure. Observed a small frag in my tank last night torching nearby frags about 2"s away.

Wow, all of the Favia corals I've had over the years have been model citizens. Very undemanding corals IME. I never had to target feed them, they weren't too particular about lighting & flow, etc. Most of them were placed on the sand bed, but there were a few others that were placed among the rocks. Growth was somewhat slow, but they did fill out.
