i want to put a potters angelfish in my 90g SPS/LPS reef tank. how destructive are they when it comes to corals?
What are your experiences with this fish?

please post pics

thanks

All angels are hit and miss. I have 3 angels in one tank. 2 flames and 1 majestic. I had a potters angel as well and he didn't nip at anything. He died for some unknown reason. Maybe bad shipping or catching. They are delicate and having one survive is tough because they arn't good shippers. That being said, my flames don't nip at anything and havn't since I've gotten them 6 months ago. The majestic nips at sps only

potters are actually good shippers. But once they hit the LFS if they were roughed up at the wholesalers or by the collector, they are doomed.

they are like any other dwarf angel when it comes to corals... i would say better then flames though

How long have to had your potter? Have you had sucess with it? What do you feed it?

POTTER is very hardy fish if you can locate a healthy specimen. POOR collection method makes potter become high mortality.

PORtters are more hardier than flame

Ok guys, but all im actually worried about is how much damage they do to SPS/LPS

who here has them in their reef tanks, good or bad experience

I've had one for 3 weeks and so far so good. Haven't seen it nip at anything except food! I've got a mixed reef with lps, clams, zoos, and a few sps. I'm just relieved I got a healthy eating specimen. Even if I see it nip at my corals I wouldn't mind. Having a potters is worth the risk!

Philip,

the key question is how much are you are feeding and how is the setup of your tank. Although all Centropyge give the chance of coral picking, the liklyhood increase a lot if:

* Tank is to small
* Tank set up is too "boaring" for the fish
* Fish are not fed sufficient
* Fish are not kept in social interaction groups or pairs
