How do frogspawns make new heads?

So I have a frogspawn with two heads right now. I have had him for a little over a month now. He seems like he is doing really well right now. I did have some issues with him falling out of the crevice I had him in when I got him, but now he is in a secure spot, somewhat near the top of the tank. I notice yesterday that one of the mouths isnt just one circle, but more like it is kind of split halfway between. Its kind of hard to explain, and I tried to get a pic, but I cant get a close up of it.

Does this sound like one of the heads is making a new head? Oh and if someone had a pic of either a normal mouth of a frogspawn, and a mouth that is splitting, I could explain it better.

Frogspawns split....sometimes you will hear about people asking about why there is a bubble in the middle of a head, that is the reason. However, a bubble doesnt always appear. For me, 1 out of 5 split heads on mine had a bubble....HTH! : )

The most common way for them to make new heads is for the existing heads to split, as mentioned above.

They can also grow new heads, withought splitting the existing ones. You will notice the new heads growing from the bottom of the existing ones, on the skeleton.

The new heads are easy to spot when the coral isn't extended, like at night.

My frogspawn currently has 8 little heads growing on the stalk/trunk of the mother - some growing on the bony, skeletal structure and some on the fleshy part of the coral.
