How Do I Adjust Switching Time?

Hi All,

I want my streams (mounted on the sides of the tank - 125 gal - facing each other) to alternate back and forth but don't want either pump to completely turn off. Here is how I have my 2 6100's and the 7094 multi-controller set up:

Mode switch is set to the middle position for pulse operation. I have them set (for now) at a very low 50% (4a), 30% (4b), 50% (6a) and 25-30% (6b). One pump is plugged into Channel 1 and the other into Channel 2.

Which knob do I use to adjust the time when the pumps switch from one to the other? Do I use the "pulse" knob (pictured as #1 in the manual) or the "interval" knob (pictured as #5 in the manual). I want to set it to switch after a very short time so I can make sure it's working the way I want, but eventually I only want it to switch after a few hours. I just can't figure out which knob controls that!

Any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks

Hi Eve,

I got your email as well and was just getting to it- I answer both so feel free to write in private if you prefer. To do what you want you will need to set it as follows. First ignore Interval- it is only a feature of tide and sequence modes. Set 4a to 50% and 4b to 30%, then set 6a to 30% and 6b to 50%. Set pulse as you prefer from 1-6 seconds. When one is at high power the other will be at low power- with such a small power difference and the wide outlet diameter the change will only be slightly perceptable by feel and likely invisible.

I understand about the small power difference. I'll only use that to start out. I don't want to blow the tissue off of any corals :) and I want to make sure I don't need to move any corals out of the stream.

The "low and high tide simulation" is where I read about switching times of 1 minute to 12 hours. I think I was trying to do something that may not be associated with (or I don't need) for pulse mode/operation.

Thanks for your help!
