I wouldnt suggest taking the coral out of the tank but, if it works go for it...
This is what I would do (I have dendrophyllia):
Wait until lights go out (they are more prone to open up at night- especially when they have a history of being antisocial)
Turn off the pumps.
Get some raw shrimp, thaw it, and squeeze the juice into the water. If you have a turkey baster, then squirt it right over the polyps.
Never BLOW water right into the polyps face, they dont like that.

Just slowly release the juice.
This is a good way to coax them to open up...
you can also try this with some cyclops.
Leave the pumps off.
They should being to open over the next 10-15 minutes.
If you get them to open, we can move on to feeding them.
