I have a huge growth of gsp, it was hitchhiker on my rock when I got it almost a year ago, and was small then..now the whole rock is covered and its now moving to the next rock and starting to cover the one.. I want to cut off and move about 1/4 of it to the other side of the tank, and then take 2/3's or so of whats left and remove it/sell it.

Now how do you remove/cut it up without hurting it? also how do you get the removed portions to attach to another rock?

thanks

Rip N Stick. You can simply get under it with your finger nail and peel off as much as you can. Then super glue it to a new rock etc. Its a pretty tough coral.

Yep. Its that simple. I think ripping it is better than cutting with a razor. You can also just put a rock etc. next to the patch and then let it passively grow over it and then remove it when it has covered a good portion. If you rip a piece off you can super glue it, rubber band it etc. Put the frag in pretty good flow to heal.

Gloves and outside of the tank is always the best when fragging (protection for you and the coral) but I never bother with either for GSP. They don't really release much into the water when torn apart.

Just remember to place GSP where its isolated from the rest of your tank. It can seriously take over! It looks pretty cool growing up the class in a back corner or on the overflow etc.

to attach it either glue it with super glue. or use a toothpick poke it thru in a few spots and attach it to the rock...good luck..bpatrol
