How do I get rid of a Bristleworm

OK, I've had this Bristle worm in my tank for atleast 2-3 months and its gotten really really big, I haven't seen its entire body, but its about 4 inches long, I'm guessing it is.

I tried to lure it out of its hole using frozen silversides and it came out partially, but wouldn't go out anymore. This Bristle worm lives right above my diamond watchman goby's hole, so it piles everything it finds right where the bristle worm is. So I leave for 2 minutes, and my goby throws the silversides right onto the bristleworm and it ate it!!

So my question is, How do I get it out?! Its probably full now because it was just fed silversides, is there any trap I can make, my lfs doesn't have anything. I'm afraid that the bristle worm will find a hole that leads to where the goby sleeps and eat it or something.

I was thinking that maybe I could pinch the bristle worms head off with tweezers. Would that kill it? Or would it grow back?

I also have a large Coral Banded Shrimp, maybe I could lure it out to where the Bristle Worm is and maybe it'll catch it?

leave it.

its a harmless detrivore and part of your clean up crew.

If you provide enough excess nutrients that will allow it to get over two feet long its then worthy of giving a name :)

FWIW.....the first reef tank I ever had was a predator tank with crushed coral to boot. I had so many huge bristleworms it wasnt even funny. 10"ers were all over the place. Man I wish i did soemthing constructive with countless hours of my time than try to catch these harmless worms like i did. Dont make the same silly mistake. let him be ;)

one more thing....get yourself a red flashlight and a few hours or more after the lights go out check out your tank with the red light. I bet even that right now you have a few that will make that 4 incher not seem so big as well as you will see a bunch of other neat stuff you didnt know you had
