How do I get rid of Mushrooms???

I have a rock with mushroom that are blue with green speckles that is completely covered. The problem is that they are spreading and attaching to other rocks in the tank where I don't want them (near sps corals). I plan on taking the rock out but how can I get rid of the strays?

That doesn't sound like a problem at all. I would say if you really just hate them, cut them down with a razor and put some aiptasia killer on whats left. That should take care of them...Although I dont really encourage the killing of innocent corals, especially shrooms.

I actually have a similar problem. I have red mushrooms ALL OVER! I don't want to kill them but the rocks are not movable to trade in. Any ideas to remove a large quantity of shrooms?

Ya Im sure people in IL would pay shipping or trade for mushrooms like myself. I am expanding to a 125 soon and trying to gain more corals.

I love shrooms.

I cant believe this most people would die for theres to spread

Yeah, but when they spread in such a way as to overgrow other more desirable corals they have to be pruned back. Cutting/fragging just isn't practical in many cases, thus the need for kalk paste or the like.

Yeah just cut them off and give em away. you can use kalk mix, or even pH buffer, if you squirt that highly concentrated into the mushroom it will zap it. just be careful of overall water chemistry

Feeling your pain. these red ones are my new weed! I started with just one , now i switch out rocks at mt LFS . wish I never put them in here!
