How do I join Mars and has Mars ever had "Tank Tours"?

Hi everyone!

My name is James and I would like to join Mars but you can't do it electronically through the website since there is no link to forward to at the membership page. I can put in the info-just can't forward it.

Since April meeting is cancelled because of WMC, can I pay at the conference?

I have an idea and I don't know if its been done by you before--but I have always enjoyed going on the home tours where groups of people go from house to house and are hosted by the owners.

How about organizing tank tours in much the same format! I would be willing to host (although my tank is fairly modest).

Just an idea so feel free to critique.

Hey James, welcome to the club. If you sign up for the WMC ($130), we can certainly also get you turned into a bonafied MARS member as well ($25). You don't have to be a member to go to the conference, and I'd rather you save you $25 for raffle tickets ( ). Weather you're new to the hobby or a self proclaimed expert, there'll be a topic for everyone at the WMC. It's like a year's worth of club meetings all packed into one weekend.

As for the tank tours, I remember when the club was much smaller (15 members) we used to have them quite often. Since the club has grown so much in recent years, it's been a bit tougher to coordinate one. We all still get together individually from time to time and oogle each others systems, and even trade coral frags, but hopefuly before the end of the year we'll have something a little more formal set up.

We've been talking about doing th Mother of all tank tours: the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and getting a little behind the scenes action. We did this with SeaBay at the old Steinhardt Aquarium several years ago and it was very cool. Bob Fenner was with us that weekend and he gave a little talk over the lunch break.
