How do i ship zoas?

How do i ship zoas?In a container with a moist paper towel and heat pack if nessecary?Or in a bag of water with a heat pack?Do i have to do overnight or can it be 2days?

I would use the thermos with wet paper. Then depending on where it is going and temps to that area I might add a heat pack or two in the box. I think they can make a 2 day if it does not get too cold.

I'm not a big fan of the wet paper towel method and def not a fan of 2 day shipping. Combining the two spells disaster IMO.

I had someone ship me a paly frag in a thermos, overnight and when I opened the thermos lid, the polyps were almost completely open.

If you are shipping north, you have to use a heat pack.

I have shipped 2 days but dont use a towel. It might fall apart in the movement. Buy your self a sealable thermo container from a .99 cent store. I found that works best. IMO

Shipped 2 day, origin at sub-freezing temps, destination at sub-freezing temps, in a bit of water and a damp paper towel stuffed in to keep things from getting too beat up, had good results. One took a day longer, froze solid.

2 day shipping with a 60 hour heat pack works wonderfully, that little bit of money spent on the heat pack is a great insurance plan.

You say the polyps were frozen solid but you had good results?????
I find that hard to believe.

I have shipped dozens of times with just wet paper towel wrapped around the zoos and placed in a thermos...and never had a problem...and received them that way just as many times with no problems.

If your going to go 2 day...go for the extended time heat pack...they are available online of course.

I personally prefer to pay for the overnight shipping. I did have some frags that didn't get to the post office in time to qualify for overnight and they came to me 2nd day. I lost about 1/5th of the polyps on all the frags.

I agree on the overnight shipping. Hey if you pay top dollar go with the best shipping. I live in Maine and have a tank full of rubble that i learned by. overnight here is around 30-40 bucks and worth every penny

Bounty paper towels. I recieved a shipment that had one bag water shiped and the rest paper towel. The soaked paper towel zoas did better for some reason.

They both made it ok...it just took the ones in water a few more days to open up.

I am liking newspaper a little better lately. It is more durable it seems and easier to get off in larger pieces at the destination. I have notice that they open faster too when shipped this way.

Hey what if it is a large heavy rock fully encrusted in zoos, then what? Wouldn't want it flopping around? and the package would be going from Cuba to phoenix this time of year, would heat or cold pack be necessary?
