How do i stop micro bubbles???

I recently took out my bioballs and sponge out of my wet/dry filter and have the water now trickling over some LR rubble in place of the bioballs. In the sump i have a skimmer and a phosban reactor. Any advice would help!

Try filter socks. It worked for me. My overflows drop water so fast that is was causing bubbles and they were sent back up the returns and I had microbubbles in the main display.

Word of caution though, clean out the filter socks good and don't have them above your sump tank edge. Mine bubbled up and overflowed the edge which in turn went over the edge of the sump and got saltwater everywhere. Luckily I noticed it very quickly and it did minumum damage. Also if you don't clean them out good before use, it makes your skimmer go crazy. Don't know why but it did mine and the LFS skimmers.

The negative seems to be that you have to clean them frequently.

Thanks for the advice and caution. Quick question...right now my flow to the sump has a plastic cover over it then the water goes thru the sponge then trickles over the LR and finally into the sump. should i remove the plastic cover and hang the tub down in the live rock with the filter sock on it, or should the hose with the filter sock actually be sitting at base of sump and remove the live rock?? Hope this makes sense. I have an aqua clear wet/dry filter.
