How do I tell the difference between a Berghia Nudibranch and a Zoo eating Nudi?

chances are very, very good that if it made it into your tank accidentally and it's got coloring on the tentacles then it's a zoo eating nudi, as they tend to absorb the pigments of the zoos they eat, I believe the aiptasia eating nudis are all white

also, if you find them on your zoos, it's probably a zoo eating nudi

also, where there's one there's more, so I'd look through all of the zoo colonies to make sure they aren't widespread (yet)

What do you do if the liverock has zoas on it and it is a piece I cannot remove?

hmmm, in that case maybe try and siphon the colony thoroughly during a water change over the course of several days in a row? I've never thought about it before actually, so I'm not sure...

If it is eating aptasia, it is a bergia. :)
OTOH, if it is eating your zoas it isn't.
I have a bergia in my avatar. They are white and generally larger than the dreaded zoa nudi.

that is definetly a zoa eating nudi, it gets it's color from what it has been eating, so that guy has been on green zoas.

there are likely eggs on the green zoas, look for any closed up polyps and pull the rock out, give it a fw dip for 5-10 minutes, then inspect the rock and pull off any nudi's or eggs.

they tend to stick with a colony for a while, before they spread out looking for new places to lay eggs. so if you found that one out in the open you certainly have many more munching on zoas right now.

I have seen them roll up in a ball and ride the current for no good reason. I have also seen them move on from one colony to another with no regard to the health of the colony.

If you find one in your tank, expect to find them on all your colony's. They get around!!

Check this one out.
