How do I use this? Nitra-gon by Filtronics

I have this and I don't know how to use someone gave it to me with no instructions. I figure I mine as well at least find out about it since it is collecting dust and my nitrates and phosphates need help. I use R/O DI water but i have no idea if that is important to this piece. Can someone help me out?
