How do office setups work (this should be good :) )

I was just curious about how tanks are set up in an office setting, ie. dr's, lawyers, etc. I know that at my mother's office, they brought tank, fish, corals and had everything set up and running the same day. I would assume that all tanks in offices are done the same way. I just don't think that they would take the time to "properly" set up, cure, cycle, etc a tank before adding fish and corals in this type of setup. I know that I have been to dr's office that didn't have a tank and several weeks later had a full set up going. Any ideas on how they are able to do this and maintain a great looking tank?

When I used to work doing this we had a few office tanks, one at a dentist which had a 42 gallon, and the other at a doctors office which had a custom built 250 gallon tank.

When these were setup, they were don just like a normal tank, with the wait for the cycle and all. The onyl reason I can think of to have a tank up and running with corals the right way in one day, would be to use water from an established system, cured rock and sand.

As far as maintaining the tanks go, we had to be there for maintenance once every two weeks, if not once a week to check up on things.

That was the problem w/ the tank at my mother's office, they couldn't get anyone to maintain it. So, they took it down and donated it to a children's dentist.

Any other opinions on this?
