hey guys how do ya'll acclimate fish from a QT to display so i'll know later, i've read a few say they mach up ph, salinity and temp if possible then float a bag with them in it and every so offtan dip the bag into the tank water to get a bit from the tank.......have ya guys done it this way or what way have ya guys had the best results?

the same way you got them in the QT, acclimation (match ph, salinity, temp) is the only way. There is no other safe way that I know of. Put fish in a bucket or tub with QT tank water in it, get some air line tubing and air line valve and set up a slow drip from DT into bucket the fish is in for about 2-3 hrs (depending on what fish). I use a nano heater for temp. If you need to dump water out of the bucket or tub the fish is in to finish aclimation do so. Make sure the drip will take about 2-3 hrs to ajust water to DT, you DON"T want this to take a half hr or an hr, longer the better as long as you keep temp in check

Regal angel hit the nail on the head - by definition, you can match the physical parameters of your quarantine tank to that of your display, so no acclimation is needed (and would actually cause undue stress anyway).

One additional step that I sometimes need to do is "social acclimation". Floating the fish in a floating basket for a few days so that it can get its bearings. We have a Red Sea tank in which the fish are all confirmed murderers(grin). If I just dump a new fish in, it will take many hits, potentially fatal. Using a floating basket alleviates that problem to some degree.

I adjust the QT tank params to display params over a few days by doing water changes on the QT with display water and adjusting the heater if need be.

as mentioned if specifics don't match slowly make them match and add to DT? make adjustments slowly especially SG in the upward way. This may take up to a week for some sensitive species

its 2 clowns and a blenny...i thought i may put both clowns in first then the blenny so i dont have too much to deal with and i also thought that having things match up and then dumping them in would be the way to go.....i like the using display water to little by little have the QT match the DT....AWESOME IDEAS GUYS..thanks...anymore?

Worth repeating.
