im going from a single 65 watt power compact to a 186 watt power compact. how do I acclimate the tank to the new lights?

The great and powerful Eric Borneman says it takes two hours for photosynthesis to really ramp up in corals. I turned my lights off for awhile every couple hours for a day or two when I upgraded my lights.... maybe you can get away with allot more or just block some of the light.

i think ill turn them off for a bit every once and a hwile thanks. The other idea sounds better but I am too lazy to do that lol. thanks andy

I think you would have better results if you screened, and used a normal photoperiod. Multiple on and offs during a regular photoperiod might be more stressful. Acclimate to the intensity and keep the photoperiod constant.

... I'm sure it is better, if I see any bad signs of stress I'll use screen, but I really dont have 1. the money for more eggcrate, and 2. Im lazy lol. guess thats bad but we'll see how it goes.

You can even get banned for quoting another post with his name on it.
