My question is about cleaning :

For the outside i use novus 1
For the inside i use Mr clean cleaning gum from proctor an gamble.
I 've got also a very expensive magnet from shuran witch is specially made for acrylic, but it's not very efficient for fine algae and seem to me that it doing some scratches.

Nice tank. Welcome to the forum.

On the outside, I use Novus acrylic polish/cleaner with a soft cotton rag. On the inside, I use a Mighty Magnet with an acylic scubber pad. I also use a scrub brush with a long handle for areas that are hard to get at with the magnet cleaner.

Beautiful tank! Well I went to glass when I upgraded lol. My favorite method was putting my magic eraser on the cleaning magnet. Actually I used the Scotch Brite brand becuase it had a sponge side that would stick to the velcro on the inside. If I waited too long or to really get in the corners I would use an old credit card or a plastic razor.

I never buffed any scratches out until I took that tank down to sell it. I just used wet sand paper and some 3m rubbing compound and it worked great.

thank you for your compliments.
This tank use a hydroxide reactor controlled by a ph meter.
For those who use a magnet, i suppose that you use a pad inside and piece of tissu outside between the magnet and the tank ?
Does someone have the same magnet as me ?
Can we use a magnet to buffer ?
I've read about mr clean few years ago, is it still consider as safe ?
Many questions.... once again i must be the only guy in france who owne this type of tank

Beautiful tank! I use a "Dobi" pad to clean my acrylic tank. It is a sponge with a plastic mesh that is safe for plastic. It is in with the cleaning products at grocery stores but does not contain any chemicals like many pads do. Just be very careful not to catch any sand in there or it will turn into a scratch pad. For coraline algae I just use one of the small plastic scrapers for acrylic.

Great looking tank!

I use a Algae Free Hammerhead (acrylic pads) and orginal magic earaser. Novus on the outside.

If you have a sand bottom just be sure you do not pick-up and sand in the cleaning pad, that where the scratches come from.

Also for those who use the magnetic cleaners, do not store the magnet assenbled in the tank when you are not using it. Take it out each time and rinse well then put it in when you are ready to clean. I think storing it in the tank is a scratch waitinng to happen as something lands on it , then when you go to use it a scratch appears!

Jbechel - Only use the "orginal" magic earaser as they do not contain any detergents..etc.

+1 ^^^ stay away from the sand and you'll be fine. Just make sure you purchase a acrylic specific magentic cleaner.

Algae Free magnet with an Original Mr. Clean Magic Eraser cut in half. I keep a supply of the erasers on hand. I have found nothing better for cleaning acrylic.
