How do you feed DTs?

So I wanted to start using this DT's phytoplankton but I'm not sure the best way to do it. Obviously it makes sense to turn off the skimmer, but for how long? I plan on using the DT's every other day ...

I leave my skimmer on, but I feed everyday. I culture my own phyto so I have a neverending supply. Just shut it off for an hour and you will be ok.

I leave my skimmer on and I also feed everyday, dont seem to have any problem

I don't use DT's but Kent's Microvert, it's pretty similar. I use a Seasquirt to target feed it to my Featherduster and Porites, and the excess is left for my Porcelain Crab and Ghost feather Dusters.

I shut my skimmer off for a hour after I add it. Just make sure you add the proper amount of it for you tank stoking otherwise your skimmer will go nuts. If ou overdose on the stuff you can easily have a algae problem from it.
