How do you get your water?

I will be setting up a 180 soon. I have never had a tank this big and i am not sure how every one else collects their water.

I do not have a RODI unit yet, so i cant get water that way.

Does every one else fill up a hundred buckets at the local Water and Ice?

You'll save money by buying an RODI unit. I filled my 60g up with water from a glacier water machine, and it was miserable. I couldnt imagine doing it 3x the amount lol. RODI is the way to go, along with a large roughneck trashcan.

Yeah, seriously, spending 100-300$ on a decent RO system would literally save you hundreds of dallors , and be right there in your house!

I just use my old bath water:lol: Seriously, get an RODI;) The RODI will be one of the cheaper pieces to a 180 gallon reef.

Well i was going to get one eventually, might as well be now.

I do not know much about RO/DI systems. What should i be looking for to buy?

What's your water quality like out of your tap? I'm in Colorado--not quite as arid as you, but still pretty bad--and all the waste water that RO/DI produces really bugged me. My water quality from the tap is really pretty good, so I went with a Kold Ster-il unit. It gives me fine water and there's no waste water at all. And it's fast.

Another non-RO/DI option is to try out a DI-only unit.

Good luck with your research!

I heard many good reviews from RODI unit selling from Ebay. Their price range is ~$75-$120 + shipping for 100GPD they can produce 0ppm from 300ppm tap water.

I still recommend Melevs units to everyone because you know you are getting them from a good seller and your problems will always be solved. If only he'd ship to the UK . :(

I was checking this one out on Ebay. Seems like a good deal. So does the one on Melevs reef.

For the extra $20-$40 on Melevs reef you know you are getting a good unit and good customer service. Highly recommend that one. ;)
