How do you introduce a new fish

I just bought a new blue tang today. I need to know what the best way to add the new addition would be. I currently have 2 black and white stripe damsel, 6 snails, and 3 small hermit crabs. How long should the whole process take? The tang is really small like 2 inches long and I have a 5 gallon tank that I could use for a QT Tank to start with. Would that be a good or bad idea to put a few small live rock into the 5 gallon along with some water from the 75 gallon? I haven't decided for sure if I am going to QT that fish to start with as I really don't care about the damsel in the tank right now. How soon should I start introducing actual water into the bag? How much at a time and how long should I wait before adding more to the bag the fish is in?

drip acclimation, go to lowes, buy some tubing, and a bucket, put the fish w/ water in the bucket. siphon the water from the tank to the bucket, once hte water is siphoning, tie a knot in the tubing so it drips. do that for 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on your tank setup/where u got the fish/what the fish is.

somethin like this

I would float the bag in the water of the destination tank. and open it up and roll down the sides to make an air roll and it also helps to stabalize the bag, then with a small cup take some water out and dump it, and add the same amount to replace it. Do that with about 1/2 cup every 10 minutes for 30 minutes. Then take the fish out with a net or by hand and drop it in. I would also add something for food at the same time, just a little to get the damsel pre-occupied.

OP, dont put LR in your QT...put a piece of 3" pvc in there or a fitting or something he can fit in, but dont waste LR in a QT tank
