Short answer - you get wet on big tanks.
My last tank was a custom 78gl tank and was 23" tall. I'm relatively short at 5'6", so this was the height that allowed me to have my arm in it up to 2" before my arm pitt when cleaning or working on it.
My new tank I'm building is 26" deep, so I will not be able to reach the bottom without my arm being in up to and including my arm pitt. This means that I cannot work on the bottom stuff without making sure I've washed off any deoderant, or it would get into the tank. But that is not a problem on a daily basis, only a couple times a month should I need to reach tot he bottom while cleaning the acrylic or arranging clams, etc. I know people with big tanks who use those super long rubber gloves that come up to the arm pitt -- I might get one of those, but that I think is only good for use while cleaning, not arranging delicate orals and stuff, as they are bulky.
