How do you QT a new clam?

Hello-I Qt all of my fish before going into my tank and i am looking at getting a clam or two, and would like to know how to QT a new specimen.
For example--How long--any dips recommended before or after QT--anything added to the Qt water--etc.

My big concern is that the lighting on my QT tank is just the standard grow light that came with the 10gallon set up from Wal-Mart. My 180gallon tank has T-5(14 bulbs) so the QT time may not have sufficient lighting.

Your stock lighting isn't enough for a qt tank I would upgrade it to a mh pendant or t5 setup.

As for a clam qt here is a nice thread for clam qt and acclimation.
