how do you tell the difference between a Micro and an Acan?

in most cases its easy . Micros are very small. They look like they run together. I have some micros, some acans, and one that I think Is a micro but not sure

see thats it though...your not sure...I have what was sold to me a while ago as an acan lord but ive seen supposed micros that look the same?!?!

To me many acan lords have a certain pattern that really makes them distinct from micros when size isn't enough - though there are some lately that have come in that could be classified as both unless you had a good part of the skeleton to look at.

When you see enough of them you'll start to learn what is and what isn't. Although I've seen some pretty big micros. :D

What are you comparing against? Acans you have/seen in person? Or against pictures? Because with the lovely ability to take macro-shots everything looks so large and detailed that it's pretty hard to compare.

I've never seen any "big micros" but the only small acans I've seen are babies.

Place a quarter next to your coral and then take a pic, will provide reference in terms of size. Also, try shooting pics of what you think are micros next to acans (together) so we can see the difference.
