Drinking RO/DI water:

I wouldn't drink it straight from the hose but by the time that it sit's in a resorvoir and interacts with the air or you make your coffee with it, it isn't DI water anymore anyway.

Nothing wrong with drinking it.
Tis an important point, true enough. The key is that it has to sit. Drinking straight DI, right out of the unit, is not a good idea though. That is the point that I want to make.
As you stated, Cfragger, you can drink it if it has had time to redissolve some ions/minerals making it much less reactive in terms of reaching equilibrium with its' environment (science geek talk, I know:p )

Unless you add salt to it the water will not reconstitute any carbonates besides DI water will leave a metallic tast in your mouth. But if you use an RO/DI unit you can tap the RO only and use that for drinking..

Because of my house setup, I have to manually carry the water from my RO/DI to my Autotop off....Kinda sucks but its better than carrying it from my LFS...:)

I like the taste of it. Been drinking it for the past several years with no "apparent" ill effects.

i run my ro/di through the attic into my reservoir above my fridge. i have a float valve in this reservoir, and a timer and solenoid to turn on my ro/di to refill the reservoir twice a week.

from the reservoir, a dual float switch setup turns on a aqualifter(soon to be dosing pump) 8x a day thats connected to my kalk reactor.
