How Do You Weigh Down Tubing

So I starting dosing two part using a marine color dosing pump. Anyway I'm using airline tubing going into Tupperware containers filled with the two part solutions. The suction cups it have keeping the tube submerged aren't cutting if. They keep coming off. Dose anyone have a trick to keep the tube submerged? Thanks.

I use rigid tubing as well... because nobody (that i have found) has made a reef safe clunk yet. All that i have seen are metal, usually brass because its nice and heavy.

So what size rigid tubing do you use? I would like to use it for my Toms aqualifter also in my ATO tank. Do you guys maybe have a link to where I could buy some? Thanks so much.

I use the filter cup provided with the aqualifter pump and just put in a piece or two of rock rubble If yours did not come with one they can be had at any place that's sells the aqualifter pump for very little

None of the places around me carry it, some even said they stopped stocking it years ago. I ended up ordering it online, searching for Lee's Thinwall Rigid Tubing. Don't remember if it was 3/16 or 1/4" but its small stuff i got. Available in lots of sizes though.

I took a couple of frag discs and drilled a hole in the centers.
One just larger than the tubing, the other so the tubing fits snug.
Slide the loose disc on first and the right disc on last.
The weight of the two discs keep the tubing pulled straight down.
Make sure the tubing ends about an inch or so above the bottom of the jugs to prevent any clogging from precipitate.

Some great ideas. And yeah none of my local stores have rigid tubing. I see the lees type online but don't know what size to get. Any idea what size will connect to standard airline tubing?

You can pickup rigid airline at BRS. Use it in all of my dosing containers, gets every last bit of fluid.

I purchased this as well. Then I drilled a hole in the lid of each container (Ca, Alk), just big enough for the tubing. It fits through snug and I can simply push it until it's at the bottom of the container and it doesn't move. Easy.

Awesome thanks. Found some on amazon. Gonna give that a shot. Sounds good for my setup.

I currently use two rectangular Tupperware containers to hold my two part. But today I passed some 1 liter Voss water bottles. I only dose about 10 to 12 ml a day of ca and alk. So I'm gonna give these a shot. They are a nice shape and hold about three months worth of two part. I'll just drill a hole in the top and put the rigid tubing into it. I actually bought 4 bottles, that way when it's time to add more two part I can just change out the bottom part and rescrew the drilled lid back on. Should make life easier and less messy.

Voss water, I guess Perrier is old school...lol
I dipped my air tubing in hot ro water(overkill tap is fine) to help it stretch over the rigid. Just a couple seconds, but worked great.

you can use a piece of PVC (example a slip-slip) and zip tie the airline tubing to the PVC piece. Keeps the tubing at the bottom.

Home Depot and Lowes sell rigid airline as well.

I left my inlet tubing about 6' too long and just leave it coiled up in the bottom of the storage container (old salt bucket).
