How do Zoos multiply?

I was just wondering. How do zoos multiply on a rock? If i have a rock with a few zoos, how long will it be before they cover the entire rock? And how do they do this...i know that mushrooms do this by splitting in half. I was just wondering how zoos do it...

they "sprout" new heads/ zoas.. how fast they grow depends on your tank and of course the size of the rock...

well if you have a huge rock it will take years to cover...thats what i meant...

if you have a small rock in a healthy tank it may start growing/ spreading in a few months...

thats what i have learned.. i am sure some lucky guys have tanks where zoas may " grow like weeds" but it took a while for mine to get going... i get good growth now but it not like i am worried about them taking over my tank...

wild caught zoas usually take a while to get comfortable, but aquacutlured or traded zoas i have found to double in six months, i got three rpe's seven months ago, today i have ten.

The best way i've had them multiply, is to put small chuncks of rock almost touching them so when they start to take to the new rock i split them. that way i've got two frags working the same time.. multiply by division what an idea!

My brown zoas turned out to be GPE, and they made lots of new ones when their rock was full, to spread onto another rock. Seriously, I put them leaning up to another rock and a week later there were 4 on the new rock.
