how doe ich spread?

hey everyone! i want to get a naso tang but im afraid of ich spreading. how does fish get it? where does it come from? does it spread to other fish or just the fish that has it? i know tangs get ich easily but is it harder for naso tang to get ich vs the hippos? and sorry for the question but i have one more. so if i get a naso tang and never get ich in the first 2 months can it get ich in 1 year or ever again?? thank in advance
