You are on the right track. Though oyster eggs will not do any good to the clams since it will not eat them. Provide enough live phyto and good Calcium and alkalinity ratio will bring you pretty good result. Squamosa is one of the fastest growing clam. You cannot expect it to grow as fast as it is in the ocean since your tank would be lack of hydrogen carbonate.
i wouldn't worry about how fast it might grow, just be worried that it is growing.
Squamosas have a growth rate somewhere between Maximas and Derasas. each clam will be different. you may see any where from 1/16" to a little over 1/8" per month if your Ca/Alk and Mg are all in line and lighting is good.
