How fast does the diatom/algae bloom progress, typically?

So, I've heard that diatoms can start blooming pretty rapidly within just a few short hours of having the lights on. My system finished cycling this past Sunday; that's when i turned my lights on.

Diatoms started to appear in little tiny bits around the rocks and sand bed, but not at the rate that i thought they would. Basically, i want to know if it's still too soon to add inverts.

Of course, every picture looks like i dove to the bottom of ocean, so those don't really help.

It can go pretty darn quick..
The lighted fuge section in my new sump went from brand new to a total coating of diatoms in 2 days.. Its insane..

That's what i was expecting. Not sure why mine is progressing so slowly. Maybe it's the lights. My lights max is 75% W and B.

Results may vary in anything reefing.. so many variables that could differ..

Never..never worry when something isn't as bad as it could be either.. :lmao:
