How good are Coralife Skimmers

I have a 75 gallon FO tank that is very lightly stocked and has been running fine under my care or the care of the previous owner for nearly 3 years now. The only filtration is about 35 pounds of live rock and a Emperor 400 HOB filter. I have wanted to add a skimmer to it for a long time. I am normally of the midset of "If it aint broke dont fix it" and in this case the tank has run fine without one but I know a skimmer can really help out as I run one on my reef tank.

I have a CPR Bak-Pak 2 on my reef tank and really like it, I was considering the dual bak-pak 2 for the 75 gallon tank but it looks to be twice the trouble with two pumps and two commectkion pumps. I was looking at the Coralife skimmers and they seem a good deal, I was considering the one rated for a 125 gallon tank.

Any other recomendations? It has to be a HOB skimmer as I run sumpless.

It seems the CSS have become the benchmark for HOB skimmers, overtaking The AquaC Remoras. There are also Deltecs out there, but they're out of most people's price range.

Coral Life Skimmers are good IMO. I have one currently and it works fine.

Well, it looks like I will get one then! Thanks for all the positive comments. At $127.99 for the 125 gallon version the price just cannot be beat.

I run a CSS on my 75 and it pulls around a cup a day. The water is clear and looks very clean and thats the only source of filteration in the tank besides the liverock.

I'm pretty happy with my CSS220 (in sump). It seemed like good bang for the buck when I was researching skimmers...

well worth the money but if you want the best go with deltec. I have a css 125 myself that im very happy with and im saving for a deltec you wont go wrong with the coralife.
