How good are Par 38 bulbs?

I am planning to install par 30 bulbs on one side of my 250g (33 inches deep) and keep Zoas, LPS and other softies. How good is the penenteration of these lamps and will I be able to keep SPS on the top(1ft to 1 1/2 ft from the bulb)?

On a 250 you may want to try par38s with 60* optics. I use both rapidLED par38s and BoostLED par30s on my 125. I keep higher demand SPS at the middle or higher and monti caps at the sand bed under the Rapids. Under the boosts I keep a brain coral half way up and zooanthids and leathers at the sandbed.

What kind of fixture do you plug the bulbs into and how many bulbs and fixtures are you using on the 125g?

I use track lighting. 5 Rapids and 4 boosts.

I have moved some of the leds around so the light is more uniform. I now have all of the Boosts on the ends, not staggered.
