how hard is it to breed crocea and raise young?

Not in a home aquarium but they DO spawn them in captivity and raise them in raceways in aquaculture facilities. It is a very complicated process to get a sucessful spawn and few people can achieve it. I know somebody that does so thats why I am chiming in on this. In the future there will be more clam farms in the US but with the initial investment in equipment and a facility, and then waiting 3-5 years for the first crop, not many are willing to risk it just yet. A single clam spawn can produce thousands and thousands of clams. Many clams cultured in the ocean are first spawned in captivity, and raised for a year or more before the are placed on the reef for grow out.
