how I kept my BTA from moving

I don't know if you guys already know but I'll share something I did to keep my bubble tip from moving. I have my tank setup exactly how I want it and didn't want to have to worry about this little thing wandering around and potentially bothering other residents. But I know I did want one w/ a gold barred maroon (I just like the interaction). So what I did was take a piece of live rock and drilled a hole, or a pit for the anemone to fit into. I made the hole large enough to acommodate the anemone's base. Just drilled the hole w/ a simple drill and bit. The rock's soft enough to make this an easy task. I've had the anemone in the same rock for a year next month. I have taken the rock and placed it in many positions in the tank the anemone never leaves it's home. I guess there's some sort of comfort factor w/ its base being completely covered. Anyway, I just thought I would share that.

Yes, great idea. I have one that I don't think will move from its hole for anything. They love to bury there foot in places like that.

Thank you for that post. My love for anenomes has been rekindled. I love them but have always had a problen with wandering. Thank you so vey much!!

Regular feeding definitely helps with their position posting. I used to feed very little(once a weekish). This helped it split into three, but they were never stable. Once I upped it to over 3 times per week, voila!! They never moved again.

I have a RBTA for a long time, if they move your light is not enough, or the par value has decline. I kmow when I have to change bulbs by the time my BTA starts moving as soon as a install a new MH bulb it stays put for at least 7 to 8 months then it starts moving again chnage bulbs stays put. If you want a static BTA increase tha watts or buy a new bulb you will see.
