How is the controller connected to the new Tunze 6105

Hi,

I currently have 2 Tunze 6105's with the small black junction box and am looking to purchase another 2.

Is the new 6105 is hard wired to the controller or does it still have the small black junction box which is then plugged into the controller?

I have a hole in my Euro Brace to allow the junction box to fit through it but I don't think the new controller will fit through the hole in the euro brace it if it is hard wired to the powerhead.

On top of the 7090 controller is a plug u take off plug multi controller apex in there put 7090 in ext mode and it works as your old ones. You can take 7090 apart easy feed cable through connect back up. Hope this helps.

As Seeady66 said, the controller opens and inside is a plug for the pump, it is smaller than the old junction box and should be easily threaded through any hole the old box would fit through.

Thanks that answers my question.

Are there any reports of contact issues with the new controller? One of my gripes with the old Tunze 6105's was the need to "jiggle" the power connector to get the pump to start? I have tried using a jewellers screwdriver to expand the pin but still have issues from time to time on restart.

I have 4 6095 and 2 6040 that use the 7090 controller run the 4'6095 with 7095 multi work great all my connections are in 6105.600 cable safe that keeps all connections safe and tight. Power cable go in a lot better as I had to jiggle power on my 1073.05 return pump till I put it in the cable safe. Hope that helps.

Generally if expanding the pin does not help and it is corrosion free, the issue is the tip on the power supply is too short, I have seen these vary in length by up to a 2mm and simply be too short. In the new design this is likely less of a problem as even part of the boot on the tip inserts into the controller, it seats much deeper.
