How long before female wrasse turns male

How long does it usually take for a single female wrasse to turn male? Not sure if my exquisite wrasse will get brighter after changing to male.

It may never change but in any case the time is unpredictable. I have seen the transition occur as quickly as three weeks (flame) as well as not at all.
